We are both avid sky watchers. Clouds can carry their own particular presence and magic. In the continental divide area near where we have our studio in Colorado we are treated to a continuing show of spectacular cloud forms. Winter time brings ice crystals in the high cirrus clouds that refract prismatic colors along the edges of the clouds called "sun dogs". These clouds have inspired a series of cloud shaped hanging sculptures in colorful forms and framed like kites. The materials used allow a soft, almost transparent look to them.

The Sail forms stem from a long study of kites as well as a love of sailing. They are large hangings suspended from the ceilings in seemingly wind blown shapes. The sculptures themselves are relatively light weight and create an airy quality to large interior spaces. The use of an open weave sunscreen fabric allows the works to be transparent, giving a feeling of lightness for such a large overhead form.
